Im starting to upgrade my computer with things like RAM graphics car and processor, but I was wondering how important would replacing motherboard be with something more expensive or does it not matter.
I know its needed, but I was wondering that if my motherboard thats 2 years old will still be able to cut it

  1. lol the motherboard houses the Processor so it is probably the 2nd most important part of the pc, you don’t have to get something expensive, but make sure that your motherboard is compatible with your processor.

  2. The motherboard is the most important part in my opinion.

It is the hub here everything is plugged into, it determines what components you can use (CPU type/speed, memory, GPU etc..), controls the flow of power to components, and allows you to overclock.

  4. The more expensive ones are the ones that have more features, for example integrated wifi, number of PCI slots, whether or not it can SLI two gfx cards, what CPU it is compatible with. Some new ones have HD processors for use just with Blurays and HD video.

The main thing to think about when getting a motherboard is making sure it is compatible with your graphics card, your CPU, sound card (if you are using one) and that it has enough expansion slots and whether it has features you may need.

  5. Your mother board is like a brain really. If you are beefing up your PC it is a good idea to know what processor or any other card your getting because they are like your blood. They have to be accepted by the motherboard or your PC won’t even start.
