TTTT asked:

I just want a head unit that functions solely as a hard drive to play mp3s. Ive been searching for a while now and have only found head units that offer a hard drive coupled with something else i dont need, like a touchscreen, a carputer, or an in car CD burner, whatever, that makes the unit way too expensive. If anyone knows of just a simple head unit for storing music, let me hear it!

  2. The biggest problem is that hard drives crash, especially when subjected to vibration. Your best bet would something like a USB flash drive and a HU that can use it. They are now in sizes of 12 Gb for $120.

  3. I use my iPod for my music storage in my car. I have it hardwired into the deck, and love it.
